League of Legends Ultimate Skins List 2017: Including Lux!
There are so many skins to choose from in League of Legends, it can be hard to decide which to go for. From DJ Sona to Pulsefire Ezreal, there are plenty of League ultimate skins.
But with so many different champions and skins, it can easily get a bit confusing. Did you know that are different tiers of skins and they are not all made the same? Some skins have a lot more features compared to others including new animations, sounds and textures, while others do not.
There are currently 6 skin tiers in League of Legends ranging from classic skins all the way up to ultimate skins. Here they are from highest to lowest quality.
Skin Tier List
● Ultimate Skins (3250 RP)
● Legendary Skins (1820 RP)
● Imperial Skins (1350 RP)
● Epic Skins (975 RP)
● Royal Skins (750 RP)
● Classic Skins (520 / 390 RP)
Ultimate skins are the most expensive skins by far on the list, but for a good reason.
The higher the price of the skin the more time and work goes into them by Riot. Most classic and royal skins will be the same original champion model just retextured with a new skin or color. This means the sounds, animations, particles and models will be exactly the same which isn’t very interesting.
Ultimate skins are called ultimate for a reason, they include a lot of work and new features. Take the DJ Sona for example she has new animations, particles and sounds for all of her abilities. In addition to this, each form has its own unique textures, sounds and animations.
Although they are more expensive than the other tiers, if you want a cool skin with all the bells and whistles then pick an ultimate skin.
There are currently 4 ultimate skin tier skins available in the store for 3 different champions. The champions are Ezreal, Sona, Udyr and Lux. Let’s take a closer look at them.
League of Legends Ultimate Skins List
Released on 29th June 2012 this skin was the first out of the 3 ultimate skins to be released. The skin features Ezreal as a futuristic warrior with a robotic arm to fire his bolts. A lot of work has gone into this skin with the major changes being on the animations, sounds and particles.
Ezreal’s animations change as he levels up his Trueshot Barrage at levels 6, 11 and 16. In addition to this, every ability features new particles including his recall, taunt, joke and dance. The skin also has new sounds included when Ezreal levels up and uses his abilities.
While Ezreal is running around it will randomly trigger a flying animation where he completely stops running and glides through the air instead.
DJ Sona was released on 25th February 2015 making it the latest ultimate skin to hit the store. The skin is available in the store for 3250 RP with the concept behind the skin being Sona as a futuristic DJ.
The first major change is that DJ Sona has 3 different forms she can change into by pressing ctrl + 5 in game. Each model has its own new animations, textures and sounds. All the particles from her auto attacks and abilities have also been changed to fit in with the new theme.
The skin has completely new animations for her abilities, auto-attacks, emotes, recalls and deaths. It’s truly a unique skin that will have everyone on the battlefield commenting about it.
Spirit Guard Udyr
Released on 17th July 2013 Spirit Guard Udyr was the second ultimate skin to be released and keeping with the theme featured many changes. The skin features Udyr as a mystical guardian monk with the abilities to change stances as he pleases.
The skin has a completely new model and texture for Udyr whilst changing the model for each of his stances. Once a maximum rank is reached for one of his stances there is an additional model change to show he has reached his final form.
Every stance features new particles, animations and sounds including new recall and respawn quotes. Since Udyr has so many stances you can see how many new animations, particles and sounds have been added to the skin. There’s a reason why they call it an ultimate skin!
The newest ultimate League of Legends skin was released on 28th November 2016. With so many new textures, particles, animations and new features this ultimate skin is by far the best. The skin feature Lux as an Elementalist that can change forms during the game. Whenever her power meter gets high enough it will grant her the ability to switch form to one of her choosing. Although this can only be done twice per game it’s still really cool!
In total, the Elementalist Lux skin has 10 different forms that she can transform into, some of these forms include fire, ice, wind and nature. Available in the store for the standard ultimate skin price of 3250 RP, this skin takes ultimates skins to the next level. When you think about how much effort has been put into this, Riot have basically created 10 individual skins and combined them all together!
We hope whichever skin Riot make next it is as good this one!
Which Will Be the Next Ultimate Skin?
Since there have only been 4 ultimate tier skins released to date with the latest being Elementalist Lux released in late 2016. It raises the question, which will be the next ultimate skin?
If we look at the champions that already have the ultimate skin then they already have a support, ADC, Top/Jungler and Mid lane. This means if we had to bet on the next ultimate skin to be released we would pick a top lane champion.
The chances are the champion would be a type of tank as these are the most common champions in the top lane. It’s also likely the champion will be popular, as a lot of time and effort go into making these skins so Riot want to make sure they sell.
If we had to pick some names we would say:
● Renekton – A popular top lane champion, Renekton does have quite a lot of skins but hardly any of them have the WOW factor. Considering the next ultimate skin is likely to be a top lane champion, we think Renekton has a good chance of getting the special treatment.
● Gangplank – Another popular top lane champion, Gangplank is loved by many and his pirate theme is perfect for almost any type of skin. Although he does have quite a few skins already released, we think he has much better chances than Riven or Darius getting an ultimate skin.
● Ziggs – Everyone’s favourite Yordle, Ziggs currently has 6 skins with the latest skin, Master Arcanist Ziggs being released in May 2015. Due to the lack of skins and popularity of the champion we think there is a high chance Ziggs could get the next ultimate skin.
● Yasuo – Yasuo hasn’t been out for that long but is consistently ranked as one of the most popular champions to play in ranked games. Yasuo currently has 4 skins with the latest being released in February 2016. With only 4 skins and being super popular we think he has a good chance of being the chosen one.
So there you have it. All 4 of the ultimate skins available in League of Legends. Although we’re not 100% sure who will be the next champion to get the ultimate treatment, we’re too excited to care!
