Top 10 League of Legends Rare Skins

There have been many League of Legends skins released over the last 6 years. Most of them are still available today but some of them were released for a limited time only to celebrate an event or League of Legends milestone. As players have moved on from League of Legends these skins have become extremely rare.

It used to be possible to buy the codes to some of these skins however in 2014 Riot disabled the code redeeming system which has now made most of these skins almost impossible to obtain. One of the few ways players can now get these skins is to buy accounts with them on from League of Legends account sellers.

There are lot’s of skins that are considered ‘rare’ but we’ve researched the top 10 rarest League of Legends skins and here they are:

Rarest League of Legends Skins

Here are the rarest skins in League of Legends in no particular order.

#10 King Rammus

lol skin

King Rammus is a rare League of Legends skin because it was only given to those who participated in closed beta. Since there were only around 250,000 players in the closed Beta this is one of the rarest League of Legends skins ever.

#9 Pumpkinhead Fiddlesticks

lol skin

This limited edition skin was only purchasable in the 2010 Harrowing event and was one of the least popular skins available meaning it appears in our list of rare League of Legends skins. Other rare skins from the Harrowing event were Mundo Mundo and Lollipoppy, shudders.

#8 Whistler Village Twitch

Whistler Village Twitch

This rare League of Legends skin was created to celebrate the 2010 winter Olympics in Vancouver. Looking at the player base at the time as well as the popularity of Twitch we think that this skin has around 200,000.

#7 Championship Riven

lol skin

Championship Riven is one of the most famous League of Legends skins ever. It was released to celebrate the League of Legends season 2 world championship and was given (in a code) to players that attended the season 2 final. Before Riot removed in game codes this skin would go for around $450 on eBay.

This skin was also available during the Pick’ems event for the 2015 World Championship to any player who could correctly pick the results of every single game. Only 1 player actually managed to get a perfect score.

#6 PAX Twisted Fate

lol skin

PAX Twisted Fate is one of the rarest League of Legends skins out there and was given out at PAX 2009. Before Riot removed skin codes this skin would go for around $350.00 on Ebay. The PAX Event in 2009 had only around 50,000 people attend which puts this as one of the rarest League of Legends skins ever.

#5 Grey Warwick

lol skin

Grey Warwick is slightly rarer than PAX Twisted Fate because it required players to invite 50 friends who then went onto get to level 10. This was a difficult task and very few players actually managed to complete this before the recruit a friend program was removed.

#4 Black Alistar

Black Alistar was only available to players who pre-ordered the collectors edition on Amazon or Gamestop. Considering this game is free to play not very many people actually pre-ordered it and the official figure is 65,000. This gives us an accurate estimation of the number of Black Alistars out there.

#3 Vancouver Amumu

lol skin

Vancouver Amumu is a super-rare League of Legends skin that was introduced when the player base was very low. This skin was available throughout the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and judging by the popularity of Amumu as well as the size of the player base it’s pretty fair to estimate that there are only around 25,000 of these skins around.

#2 Silver Kayle

lol skin

Silver Kayle is one of the oldest skins in the game and was released when the game offically launched. It was one of the four collectors edition skins which makes it similar in rarity to Black Alistar. It’s one of the most visually appealing League of Legends skins as well as one of the rarest.

#1 Human Ryze

lol skin

Human Ryze comes with the pre-order of the collectors edition and as such is one of the rarest skins in League of Legends, along with Silver Kayle and Black Alistar. Since the removal of codes this skin is only available by buying an account with it currently on, and considering a lot of these accounts are now inactive it’s a very rare skin.
